Start 2025 right!
A new year brings new goals, and it is a great time to start Jiu Jitsu. Starting out in Jiu Jitsu can seem tough whether you're a complete beginner or you've been training for a while - there are always challenges…
Understanding the spectrum of learning….. from beginners to active competitors getting students and athletes to their goals is the primary goal at Bushido.
Most coaches will tell you to go through the grind to get better but some focus points that can help you make the process a little easier will help!
However, first you need to identify four core problems faced by most Jiu Jitsu students:
1. Information overload:
There is TONS of Jiu Jitsu information out there. It can be overwhelming trying to figure out what to focus on and where to start. It’s like going to order at a restaurant and the menu has 250 items and decision fatigue sets in then you don’t even know what to eat.
2. Lack of structured training
You might show up to class, but sometimes it’s hard to know where you are in your progression. You’re left wondering if you're getting the right kind of guidance to make real progress.
3. Inconsistent training or no access to resources
Maybe your training schedule doesn’t always align with the availability of classes. Goals with a plan coupled with consistency is the key to improvement.
4. Difficulty hitting techniques in sparring
It’s one thing to see something on Instagram and it’s another thing to learn a technique, and a completely different thing to use it effectively in live rolls or competition. Many practitioners get stuck here, unsure of how to make their techniques work when it matters most. They then think the way to improvement is to learn even more advanced techniques they do not understand to add to their arsenal of "moves".
That’s why…
At Bushido Jiu Jitsu we address ALL these problems
1. Structured training:
Our fundamental program is designed to guide you step by step, giving you a clear path for improvement while learning actual techniques that are applicable in class, competition and self defense. We have an actual training curriculum that is followed so you can become much more well rounded.
2. Techniques broken down:
From the basics to advanced moves, everything is explained clearly so you can understand and apply it in your own training. We work to get you to add skills/tools to your arsenal as progressions build.
3. Large class schedule:
With Bushido’s massive class schedule you can train when it’s convenient for you with gi or no gi early, afternoon or evening classes.
4. Real-life application:
Learn techniques that will work in real life situations, live sparring and competition. We focus our student's attention to skill acquisition rather than just being tough.
Bushido’s goal is to help you take the guesswork out of training and give you a clear, actionable path to success whether you want to get in shape, learn self-defense or compete!
Come by Bushido and try out a class!
