How did you get started?
I was first introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by my brother when he started. I was 13 years old in the adults class. The first class I came to, I didn’t know much but everyone helped me out. After almost 4 years of Jiu-Jitsu I have become a blue belt and be lucky enough to help with the kids class.
What's the biggest challenge you've encountered in your training and how did you overcome it?
When I first started as a kid going to the adults class I was much smaller then everyone there. I wasn’t able to do much to them as they were so much bigger and I didn’t know much Jiu Jitsu. After some time of learning Jiu Jitsu I found techniques that worked for me and I was able to roll with others even much larger than me.
What's your favorite thing about training or teaching and why?
I enjoy seeing each kid grow and succeed in Jiu Jitsu. It’s awesome to be able to teach kids a move and then see them do it during a competition.
What are your personal goals on and off the mat?
My personal goal on and off the mat is to grow and get better at something everyday.
What's something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I plan to go into the Navy when I graduate high school.
